—MUSICAL CAMARADERIE AND FUN!!—

ELIGIBILITY

The camp is designed for Middle School and High School string players whose minimum playing level is completion of Suzuki Book II.  (Other cases will be considered on an individual basis.)  It is highly recommended to form your own quartet ahead of time and these groups will be given priority.  If you do not have a preformed ensemble, you will be placed in groups with players on a similar level.  New participants must audition by tape. Please include two three octave scales and two contrasting movements from your current repertoire.  Last years campers are not required to audition.

SCHEDULE

Camp begins June 14, 2010 and ends June 25, 2010, Monday through Friday of both weeks.  The program is designed for students to attend two weeks of study.

Classes will begin at 1:00pm and will be dismissed at 6:00pm.  Students need to bring a folding music stand.  Snacks will be provided.  A typical day’s schedule will include ensemble rehearsal with coaching, theory and history class, string orchestra rehearsal, and a private lesson.

Each week will conclude with a recital and there will be opportunities to play in the master classes during the week.
